Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino just dropped a bold new solution: a secure offline password vault designed to ditch the cloud and take back control.
In direct response to this unprecedented cybersecurity crisis, Ardoino has announced the development of a fully offline, open-source password manager a solution designed to give users complete custody over their digital credentials and eliminate reliance on vulnerable cloud platforms.
"It’s time to take back control," Ardoino stated on X (formerly Twitter), calling centralized storage "a dangerous single point of failure."
The timing is critical. Security analysts uncovered an aggregated dump of 16 billion leaked credentials circulating on the dark web spanning years of hacks, breaches, and cloud compromises. For many users, their trust in mainstream password managers like LastPass and 1Password has been irreparably damaged.
Tether's Answer: A Self-Custody Password Vault
Ardoino’s new tool is positioned as a direct counter to centralized models:
